I had a late dinner at the Lebanese Cedar Tree restaurant after our IPSC meeting this evening. It was wonderful (not just the food). My late arrival meant that the staff had more time to chat with me about the situation in the Middle East. A Moroccan waiter provided me with a YouTube link to an account by a Moroccan Jew of Jewish immigration to Palestine which is at odds with the Israeli narrative (see below). I haven’t had a chance to view it yet. I then had a chat with a Libyan chef, who told me about the chaotic situation in his country and, in particular, about Khalifa Haftar (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khalifa_Haftar ). Lastly, I had a brief chat with an Iraqi from Baghdad. His family had fled not so long ago to Kurdistan (!) because they had been warned that ISIS (now the Islamic State) were likely to attack Baghdad. Luckily they returned to Baghdad before the Islamic State nutcases attacked Kurdistan.
