I had a moment this afternoon that felt oddly victorious. A little backstory: I was in Ireland recently, and we walked everywhere. There were times I was pretty sure my legs were going to fall off, but I was having so much fun I didnt stop. Once I got home I realized how much more I could be walking (to the store every day because I forgot something). I usually stop on the way home at the store, so now I park my car in the driveway, change into my sneakers and walk to the store to get whatever I needed. Mind you, the store isnt very far from my house at all. (round trip is around 1.5 miles). Today, while I have more light, I decided to treat myself to a Guinness, which I havent had since I got back. So, I walked up to Total Wine which is 3.6 miles round trip (thats 5.7km, so I just walked a 5K+ for beer, basically). This was my silly triumph moment: On the way back, (I was walking at a pretty quick pace), I saw a guy walking ahead of me. He wasnt walking very fast and it was clear I was going to catch up to him and pass him. Suddenly, it occurred to me that I was wearing my Captain America backpack, and that I was going to pass this fit, young guy. So, I had to pass on his left side and said on your left as I did it. Then got a case of the giggles all the way home. If you didnt know, Im a huge Captain fan and since Im on Weight Watchers, Ive been trying to move more. Ive gone from approximately 275 lbs to a current 185 lbs. Ive been gaining recently and its been disheartening. Todays little Captain moment gave me all the confidence I need to fight on. Thanks Marvel, for building the Marvel Universe, and thanks Chris Evans for being such a fantastic Captain America. #OnYourLeft
