I had a very intense weekend of meetings in LA, and the whole time was preceded by a lot of driving. Including watching the car in front of me drift into an oncoming semi-truck as we crossed from Paso Robles to Lost Hills on the 46. The road curved; the car did not. He hit the middle of the truck, bounced back into our lane, then over-corrected back into the oncoming traffic lane. The oncoming car there avoided him and the driver finally pulled over. I drove around him and called 911 while I kept an eye on the driver who was struggling with the airbags and SIPS that had deployed. He got out and staggered up to us in our car about the time CHPs arrived and stated, He came out of nowhere!. Blood was streaming from his cheeks and bridge of his nose, but otherwise he appeared relatively intact. CHPs took over and I drove away. Im very glad to have been following at a safe distance and paying attention to the road so I didnt drive into the debris flying off the vehicles and fully able to tell this story today. The whole scene is rather etched into my memory.
