I had an awesome vacation last week on a cruise with about thirty friends. We were celebrating the senior year of a really big graduating class of our Church Youth Group and Wren High School kids. I have never seen a group of kids easier to have on a vacation. They just really knew how to have fun in a way that showed their true character. I had a great time and enjoyed a week with my phone on airplane mode. I am refreshed, ready for work, but kind of wishing I could stay unplugged. I got my first computer when I was about 30, my first cell phone when I was about 33, my first Internet access when I was about 36. In the midst of my clicking, typing, texting, e-mailing, and Facebooking, I have lost the serene peace of thinking and meditating. I plan on remembering this lesson.
