I had an encounter several months ago with a young lady in a store. I spoke 2 her and she said, u dont do anything 4 Mcgehee u do everything 4 Dermott. She didnt know I delivered 25 bags of food 2 the elderly and mentally and physically challenged. However 4 some reason what she said continued 2 stay on my mind. 4 some reason Alderman kept coming 2 mind and then others started calling me and asking me 2 run as a city official. I felt that was a confirmation 2 run 4 Alderman 4 the town I live in. I was a Alderman some years ago and I learned a lot, so I have the experience and Im so much wiser. The reason im not alderman 2day is because I chose not 2 run 4 re- election. Im not running because I feel the person who I would b running against havent did a good job. Im running because I want 2 do more 4 my town and I have so many ideas as 2 make our city better and working with whosever Mayor and other council members. One thing is on my heart especially in the wake of Furgenson Missouri is 2 bridge a better relationship with our police department and community. We amost had a Furgenson years ago. With my experience as a juvenile officer and the juvenile courts and being a former alderman I can work on bridging that gap. I also experienced the other night as I was called out, a citizen had issues with her mentally challenged daughter and the police was called and they couldnt help this woman without saying they had 2 lock her daughter up. I felt that it was something that the police dpt. could have done if it was only transporting the young lady 2 the hospital. She was transported by church members of a church because she refused 2 get of the van and anything could have happened because her mom said she gets violent at times. There are a lot of things that I c that needs 2 b done and addressed. I know our city have 2 do things 2 attract businesses and jobs, I want 2 b a part of making this happen. Im not a politician that will make promises that I know I cannot keep. But one thing I do promise. I will address issues of concern that our city needs. I promise 2 do everything within my power 2 make sure those issues r resolved. I will also put God first in everything that needs 2 b done and all of my decisions because without Him we can do nothing. I have a vision, and without a vision the people perish. I would love your support as Alderman of Mcgehee if u live in our city. Im excited about what God is going 2 do. GOD BLESS AND KEEP U ALL
