I had an extra day in Guatemala before my flight home, so Beaver and I decided to climb one of the several active volcanos down here. I stopped by one of the local shops and picked up a couple cervezas for the hike. Up at the volcano crater, I ran into a group of girls from, in no particular order, Poland, Germany, Malaysia and Albania. All were on holiday in Antigua for several months. They were roasting marshmallows on a lava vent and offered me some. I offered up a couple cold beers in trade, and we enjoyed a very bizarre lunch of beer and volcano-roasted marshmallows. Beaver made new friends and I almost brought home a stray puppy that lived up on the crater rim. The girls were particularly concerned about Beaver melting. Me...notsomuch.
