I had an interesting conversation with a friend of mine on the criteria for calling something a revolution or someone a revolutionary, and how this intersects with "art" in various forms, from poetry, to fiction, to whatever you call those things hanging on the wall. And it reminded me of Sardar Gursharan Singh, who (like many Punjabi writers and dramatists) has been vastly overlooked for his contributions, primarily because he was never interested in being famous in the conventional sense, and was all about bringing street theater and ideas to "the people," not academics or the elite literary community, who decide on prizes and awards. This is a post I wrote a while ago. (A version of this was crossposted on The Langar Hall). navdeepsinghdhillon/?p=3537
