I had been curious as to why so many keep returning to the Frances, in particular (outside of doing it in stages). Of course, one answer is the wonderful infrastructure with another being the desire to revisit areas not fully taken in because of the kilometers one wants to accomplish for lack of time, etc. Yet since Ive been home, Ive been doing some thinking and noticed how odd it is that at home you dont just walk into a cafe and sit down with total strangers - yet on the Frances its completely normal behavior. Then there is the international mix (11% American?) all on the same path, with the same struggles, joys, trials and no distinction to socio-economic, political , ethnic , or religious background. One of the sweetest things I enjoy is having a one on one conversation with someone who doesnt understand me linguistically yet despite this enjoy a lively conversation based on tone of voice, gesture and mood. Im recalling one conversation with a German woman in particular which we both enjoyed even whilst neither one of us understood the language of the other. We just blabbered on as if we did.;-D One example of many. It is very beautiful and rather primal. Just a few thoughts for today.
