I had been friends with Stevie for quite some time on fb before we actually met when he invited me to be a guest on his Punk N Disorderly radio show. He told me many stories and had just as many laughs, we chatted for hours and just seemed to click straight away. That Falkirk Charm working its magic. I remember replying to my best friend I get the feeling hes going to be a big part of my life when she asked how it went. We were the best of friends to begin with and he made a point of coming round to mine, every day for about 3 weeks. On a couple of occasions he had to walk as the snow was so bad no taxis or buses were running. Our first Christmas together was marred by him kept in hospital for a few days and when he came out on boxing day, I cooked a second Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and we exchanged our presents. There were so many sides to Stevie; he was the life and soul of many a party and night out, he was kind, gentle and generous to a fault with his friends and strangers alike. He had what many would consider an outrageous sense of humour, and loved to push boundaries. Many jokes were in poor taste, just when you thought hed gone too far, he would cross the line further - but you couldnt be offended and he would have you in stitches. He was brilliant at his jobs in substance misuse, criminal justice and support work, he could engage anyone, even the hardest nuts to crack would end up working well with him. Stevie was no saint, he made no bones about this. But he had worked incredibly hard to make a new life and better himself and proved many people wrong. He was a good man at heart. My best friend and my soul mate, my friends joked he was just a male version of me, maybe thats why we got on so well..who knows. I could go on, but I would never be able to say everything I wanted to say, no matter how much time I had. The last 4 years, Stevie was a family man and became a Dad to both my children. He treated them as his own and would refer to them as my son and my daughter. He was proud of them and they are of him. One of the last texts Stevie sent me was to say how much he loved me, to thank me for everything that I had done for him and to tell me that he would never forget me - well Stevie, right back at ya mister. Love you forever x
