I had been trying to lose a few pounds without much success when our son Bill and his wife Jaime gave me one of their exercise programs for my birthday. This was October 12, 2013, it stayed in the box until mid January of 2014. Their company “Beachbody” has a lot of programs but Bill thought the Tai Cheng was the best choice for someone of my age. OK, advanced age. (75) So I began Tai Cheng together with their meal a day replacement shake (Shakology) almost a year ago. I love and use them for a breakfast replacement. Created as a complete nutritional meal replacement. Shakology says - It will reduce junk food cravings – drink it in the morning to enjoy this benefit throughout the day. Increase your energy and feel healthier. Improve your digestion and regularity. It does exactly that! Tai Cheng is based on Tai Chi, the program developed by Dr. Mark Cheng. It involves a lot of stretching and balance enhancing exercises. “Beachbody” decribes it this way: “The Tai Cheng workout is based on classical Tai Chi techniques, ancient Qi Gong practices, and modern corrective exercise patterns designed to both rehab and prehab the body, as well as improve the bodys metabolism, joint function, stress management, and athletic performance! The Tai Cheng program is a workout that feels good, challenges your body, gives you energy, and can help improve circulation, straighten posture, open your joints, reduce painful trigger points, and promote balance and flexibility to help improve your health as you age.” They get no argument from me. The program was easier then what I was already doing the year before and results were way, way better. Don’t get me wrong I have no illusions, I am 76 now and have a non working pituitary gland, but I can still walk the golf course, wade and kayak the river and pretty much do what I want to. I can’t ask for more that that. Finally, I think what sets Bill and Jamie’s group apart is they all have so much fun getting fit and supporting one another even though in many cases they are states apart. Usually not that way when it comes to exercise. Good time of the year to begin a program if you want to make it a goal you can find Bill and Jaime at https://facebook/guthierfamilyfitness
