I had forgotten how much I love being at sea. The ocean is beautiful today, kind of choppy, white caps to the horizon. The ship moving along at a nice clip which means we have a nice pitch and just a bit of roll. Tying things down has become important. Almost lost the monitor for our work computer last night. Work has been fun. Troubleshooting and fixing problems. Put is some long days over the weekend, but right now it is more maintenance mode and so I will keep it to my basic twelve hours per day. I had a weekend with down equipment so I spent a very long time trouble shooting and reporting. I was looking for help but because of sequester, it was unavailable from the normal sources. My compadre on the ship already deployed was able to offer solid advice that helped me solve the problem. The crew is a bunch of good kids. They pretty much range in age between Bret and Greg. The captain might be a little older than Bret, but not by much I am sure. I have done one of my lessons in Spanish, but haven’t worked out for three days. Hopefully today I can get in a light workout commiserate with the ship’s movement and then another Spanish lesson. All is well. I’ll see you in a couple of weeks.
