I had heard that the GOP had drawn up a list of items that they wanted to attach to any increase in the debt limit. I couldnt find the draft legislation, but I did find this article. If we believe the article it appears the DRAFT bill will include amongst others: 1) Delay ACA by one year 2) Reduce how much states can charge back to the federal government for medicaid 3) Modify Dodd-Frank so that federal funds cant be used to help in a orderly wind-down of failed institutions. 4) Assert greater oversight of the new Consumer Protection Bureau 5) Approve the Keystone pipeline and open up Federal lands for energy development. 6) Eliminate Social security block grant system. 7) Reforming the Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) So basically most of this is part of the GOP platform...so either we accept the GOP position on healthcare, energy, finance, and pension reform...or we default.
