I had rose of sharon flowers for lunch. I picked a bunch and cooked a kind of soup from them, just by themselves, then running them through a blender to get a full sense of the taste, which is not in any way bad or strong. Pretty good actually, and the effect seemed good, or at least i feel fine. I do get a sense that it could possibly be mood supportive like this article says. What a huge food source going to waste. Hibiscus family, like my favorite veggie jute mallow, and okra. The purple color is bound to be anthocyanin compounds, which are supposed to be anti inflammatory.
