I had surgery on myleft eye last Thursday. While I was awake they removed the vitreous humor from the eye and pealed scare tissue off the back of the eye that had been making my vision blurry. They put an air bubble into the eye and patched it overnight. The next morning I was allowed to remove the patch and went back for another appointment with the doctor. I had virtually no vision in the eye but was told that it would come back over the next week to about what I had before the surgery. Slowly I was able to see a little but only at the top of my field of vision. I got more and more sight as the field line came down. The eye was starting to fill with liquid again and as it did was similar to looking through a diving mask that is almost full of water. As the eye filled it was like the water came out of the mask. At this time there is just a small bubble in the bottom of my field. If I look straight down through this bubble it is like looking through a close up lens and I have very sharp vision close up. It is one of the most bizarre things I have ever experienced. The bubble bounces around in my vision like a bubble in a bottle of water. Light bounces off of it and causes a mini light show. It has been quite an experience but I will be glad when it is over.
