I had the absolute pleasure of hearing and meeting Jon Henrik Fjällberg, winner of the Swedish X Factor, at a celebration of National Day at the Swedish Embassy in Bogota, Colombia. Jon was adopted at 10 months old from Colombia and raised Sami in Sweden. Through his life he has suffered much discrimination and alienation from Swedes and the Samis. Despite that, he has become an incredible artist. Jon is also one of the most gentle and shy people one could meet. Perhaps that is a result of his culture, upbringing, pain or a combination. But he is so very generous with his soul that poor out with his voice.
