I had the absolute pleasure of organinsng a special party for a special little girl! At the precious age of 5 years old, Natalia Tuhiwai-Palu was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia . Diagnosed with on 23rd of october 2013. Natalia has monthly lumbar punctures and intrathecal chemotherapy. For 8months of treatment she also had to undergo intravenous(IV) chemotherapy every 2 weeks which caused her to lose her hair ( so mum shaved hers too!! Goo Mum!!) . Many blood transfusions and regular medications also throughout this time. At the moment she is still taking regular medication and daily oral chemotherapy which Mum has to administer at home and is currently on a 5 week course of antibiotics, to hopefully cure mucous pockets found on her chest. Natalia has weekly steroids which makes her emotions run wild, her taste buds go crazy and her appetite increase immensely so her mum struggles to support her diet from week to week as it changes from day to day! Natalia has lost many school day and many nights spent iscolated in hospital. Myself, and numerous other businesss rallied together to make this party an unforgettable one!!!
