I had the distinct pleasure of being one of 750 fans who crowded into the Babcock Theatre Friday night for a reading by Neil Gaiman. I dont think, actually, that I qualified as a fan before the reading, but I certainly am one now. In terms of entertainment, what could possibly be more elemental, more primitive, than one person telling stories to a circle of rapt listeners? And the most amazing thing, as Gaiman noted, is that it is all done with just 26 letters and a handful of punctuation. It was a magical night. I hope I captured a little of it in my review:
