I had the honor of speaking today at the ribbon cutting for The Summit Project, remembering men and women from Maine who have lost their lives in the line of duty since 9/11/01. I spoke of the loss of my dad, Lt. Dewing Proctor in WWII and the lasting impact of the various types of touchstones that connect me with him. The Summit Project will be taking memorial stones up Katahdin Mt. on Memorial Day. Major David Cote is the founder and driving force behind the project.
