I had the most surreal dream: being on a beach and watching men digging in the sand...a tarp is pulled back and a bundle of banana leaves is heaved from the hole...a body. Pale skin from beneath an upturned leaf reveals a plan gone awry. A bearded man comes forward with a knife to finish the job...but the knife is dull...it cannot break through the fatty skin...I know I have a knife, I know mine is sharp....I pull it from my bag and approach the body, the man, and ask where to cut. It gets gory from there, limbs quartered, tendon and flesh separating, spine broken..here, now here, around that joint, leave that intact...nearby someone stokes coals to flame and smoke....those limbs blacken....and, eventually, we eat.... So real....almost like it was yesterday...oh yeah! Beach pig roast WAS yesterday!
