I had the opportunity to attend 100 years celebration in the province of Bukidnon, Philippines where street dance parade was part of the todays celebration. I was drawn to come and witness since it has a long history of early settlers in the Philippines which this province consists of 7 tribes. Whats interesting being a filipino weve been influenced by so many cultures from the spanish times, to the japanese, chinese but the western world has the most influenced in our culture today. As a side personal project I wanted to collect portraits of the oldest people in my country which infact is slowly fading away. Please meet Auron, he is 10 and belongs to Manobo tribe which is 1 of the 7 tribes in Bukidnon. Thought documenting this kid will also preserve the way how they look and their way of life.
