I had the opportunity to try out Val Lewiss FYI clay - a new fine silver metal clay. I made my usual components for fusing to an Argentium base. It was lovely to work with - very smooth and slow to dry out. Because of that, I think it was easier to work with in the wet stage for sculpting. I had to bake it for a bit on my warmer to get it firm enough to sand and carve, and also a bit more delicate at that stage. I like that it shrinks more (20%) since we cant get the old higher shrinkage PMC original anymore. I fired it right next to PMC3, and it looked slightly duller coming out of the kiln. However, from then on, its just fine silver, so it behaved exactly as expected. Recommended!
