I had the privilege to visit the Mbawemi Orphan Centre in Mzuzu These wonderful people look after hundreds of orphans, some of whom have AIDS. They only have enough money to feed the children one bowl of porridge a day and have no running water or electricity. They teach the kids in class sizes of 200 and are trying to find the money to get more classrooms to lower the class sizes down to at least 100. The kids have no toys or books and get cold because they have no warm clothing or blankets.
