I had to buy bigger cooking vessels for the kitchen- we are expanding. the shopkeeper told me there is talk in their town about lunch with Polai Swami. I see lot of new faces. old folk in the village have also shown interest. life is a bit harsh for some- you don’t work, you don’t eat. the old man living with me was on the verge of death and a heap of bones. he is healing slowly and now takes care of the tiny kitchen garden. @ 200 rupees a day, vegetables are by far my biggest expense and I won’t compromise on nutrition. I do pay a premium for quality and freshness but this political unrest is killing me. it is past 60 days with no public transportation and skyrocketing prices disrupting normal life. there is no respite in sight for the common man. fortunately devotees have started to donate rice and dal, and we now have a dedicated sponsor for milk. this gentleman made me promise never to take that privilege from him. i still somehow manage when it comes to paying rent, salaries and other bills but everything works out, rather mysteriously. logistics is after all Master’s prerogative, I’m only a servant to the devotee.
