I had to catch the train, I was late, it is a rainy day in London, traffic, people pushing, ticket machine not working, slippery ground... on top of it all I was hungry so I grabbed a sandwich and waited in line at the ticket queue. I was enjoying my sandwich and took a sizable chunk when I realized that it was my turn at the ticket window. Fearing that I would be loosing my turn, I went up to the ticket window and looked at the man behind the glass and I froze - I could not chew and swallow my food quick enough to talk. Well... can I help you? To distract him, I just placed some money into the tray and he looked confused so he asked again How can I help you sir? I was forced to reply with a mouthful of food : One day travel 1 and 2 please but it did not even sound human... EH???? was his reply... his expression was of utter shock. I tried my best to chew again and reply at the same time but I must have looked even stranger than before because his look had quickly changed to that of horror and disgust... Dont you talk with your mouth full of food! Its disgusting! Luckily he understood what I asked for and gave me the ticket and change. I felt extremely embarrassed and walked away but now every time I think of his face - I laugh...
