I had to drive all night to get back home from Roots on the River - TopicsExpress

I had to drive all night to get back home from Roots on the River (800 km). 3 cups of coffee, 2 power naps and one coke later I made it in time to go with Donna and Shadow to the vets. The good news is we all came home too! Oh and Donna and I are together for our 28th anniversary. Ive missed a few being down in Bellows Falls. By the time I took Shadow, our 16 year old cat into the vet Thursday morning, Pokey Karol, was already bussing his way to Buffalo. Picked him up at 12:30, we had our traditional meal at a Chinese restauraunt in Troy and rolled into the Everyday Inn after 8. Greeting hugs down at Wool radio and then we jammed until 1 am. Good thing I got a little sleep Thursday night. I had a great time at the Flat Iron Exchange open stage hosted by Mike & Jan Sheehy (The Milk House Heaters) . Sam Creigh birthday-gifted me his new CD Wanted Man and played a few songs as did Pokey, Gary W. Banker, Gary Pierce, Domenic Cicala and several others. It was one of the best open stages Ive ever been to. I really liked the young Meadow Brothers at Popolos after lunch too, and managed to snag one of their CDs. Had some Tandoori chicken from a vendor at the Marketplace and got to see Sean Rowe and Carolyn Wonderland before getting a text and deciding to come home. Bob Wolfe graciously agreed to get Pokey back to the bus station in Buffalo so I had time for a few quick hugs and high-tailed it out just a James McMurtry was starting up. I packed a whole lot of music, laughs, love and hugs into the abbreviated weekend and Im looking forward to pics of what I missed.
