I had to drop $700 on emergency car repairs last month and now my car wont start again (different problem). Looks like if its the starter this will be another ~$300 and I just had to replace my defunct battery ($120) to find out that wasnt the only problem. The previous $700 ate my entire savings. Oh, also, the summer is the slow season for serving, so.. money is already tight without these emergencies popping up. On top of that any time I spend out working on my car myself is being done in 110*F heat. Public transportation isnt even a feasible means of getting from where I live to where I work and it will take apx two weeks to get my car back. Seriously FML right now.
