I had to post this because it is the perfect example of the two sides of the feminist argument that are most often seen. Ellen Page thinks that feminist is a bad word because of patriarchy, when in reality it is seen as a bad word because people have been soured on the movement by the people mentioned by the 2nd lady. But the crazies havent taken over the movement either, like the second lady thinks. Its the same thing as with evangelical atheists: a smaller group of people have ripped the microphone away from more reasonable people, and everyone thinks they make up the majority. But in reality, crazy people are a small minority in most groups and beliefs. But both sides think its all or nothing and that there is no middle ground. Just because the patriarchy doesnt exist doesnt mean that there arent still cultural boundaries, just like in this imgur/gallery/8PIHu post. That is the problem in todays society. No ones pulling the strings, people just do things without realizing the negative impact they could have, especially with children.
