I had to take G-man back to the Orthopedic office today. The - TopicsExpress

I had to take G-man back to the Orthopedic office today. The green cast seemed too tight on his fingers. The pointer and pinky finger were getting a little puffy so we decided it was best to get the green cast off and re-cast. They couldnt get us in until afternoon so Kate got to come this time! She was so intrigued by how they took off the old and put on the new! (Medical profession in the making?!). Today, I let her have the privilege of choosing the color. She was so excited. She even walked with Brent (our favorite and amazing cast guy!) to show him which one she wanted. (I did give a few restrictions such as no hot pink or pink/purple camo) but she chose CAMO! She knows her brother is tough enough to wear camo! If you ask her what she chose shell very between telling you camo or chemo. They sound a lot alike. And as Beth Grecian Kelly said, They both represent a battle! Nicely put!! Either way, Kate is proud and Bubba looks tough in his tiny camo cast. Theyll recheck next week and hopefully it can come off! In other news, I called and talked to DCF today. (Hadnt heard anything and was getting impatient!) Still paperwork to be completed to finalize closure but CPS has reviewed and has no reason to suspect any abuse or neglect (Duh!). We should receive a letter in the mail when it is officially closed. :) At least I know we are one step closer to putting it behind us...time to move on! Upcoming overview: This Friday (Oct 3) Grayson will be seen at Shands by the Endocrinologist to look at bone density/nutrition options. It is our first appt with Dr Silverstein. It should be a simply day trip. Kate is out of school and Brady is scheduled off so we are all planning on going and checking out the Butterfly Museum in Gainesville while we are there. The following week is another busy one! Orthopedic appt on Tuesday (8th) to follow up and possibly remove the cast. Then, Grayson and I will travel to Gainesville on Thursday (9th) for a clinic visit with IV chemo. On Friday (10th), Grayson has a spinal tap procedure with Chemo. That afternoon, Michelle Hart and I will be meeting with Dr. Slayton and some other Shands doctors and social workers to further the discussion on the Hang Tough House! One foot in front of the other, day by day...keep on keeping on! Tough as nails!
