I had to write a paper for my Gender, Crime & Justice class. This paper was on the Susan Smith Trial. For those who do not know Susan Smith killed her 2 boys ages 3 and 14 months by drowning them in October 1994. We had to pick a theory about why she did this. John Paul Wilson helped me rewrite the introduction to make is sound more solid. This paper was worth 50 points. I would be given 5 extra points if I could show how the theory was directed at female offenders. I did not feel super sure about my paper but was glad to have turned it in on time.My paper was due Monday night. Today I received an email on my school account with the following... Hi Aleesha, I reviewed your paper on Susan Smith and posted 55 points on Blackboard. The paper is well written and organized, and does a good job applying general strain theory to Smith’s actions. Moreover, the paper receives extra points for discussing the application to female offenders in general. Very nicely done.
