I hail from Kerala... the land that follows the matriarchal system... I was given my mothers name .. Growing up in Nazareth boarding in Ooty all my things, starting with clothes, books, shoes, toiletries everything was marked..... S.Ambika My passport holds the same name ... Santha Kumari Amma Ambika. After being married and single I took on my fathers surname. Thats how Ambika Pillai came about. To my sisters and in my head I m plain old Ambika .. To Amma and my friends I m ambu.. To most people of Kerala I m Ambika maam.. My nieces and nephews call me abi.. I m also known to some friends as aboo boo, ambilical, ambuse and Ambi ...my salon staff call me maam... my sis Renu calls me Chechi ... Achan used to call me adaiii😀 And to Kavi I m Amma 😊😊😊😊😊😊
