I hate my job sometimes..after having 2 conversations this morning with some really excellent homeowners in regards to sightings on their properties I get a call out to a lovely little Tiger. He was beautiful, fat and shiny, recently shed. He had to be euthansed because a bystander had a go at him and broke his back. Now understand this little fella was just trying to get away, he just wanted to hide and get away safely... We hear all the time, ooh, he was having a go. Actually he was trying to defend himself because YOU were having a go...in virtually all cases it is ENTIRELY unnecessary to take such a risk. If you have a snake just mosying around the garden, looking for a drink or a feed, hes not posing a threat. Dont take the risk of attacking the snake and being bitten! Its just not worth it, especially, ESPECIALLY if like most people this time of year, youre in shorts and thongs. Call a trained catcher, even just for advice if youre not sure you need us. Most are just passing through and chances are youll never see him again. On the upside I got to educate some people and met some really nice tourists. Rest In Peace Little Tiger.
