I hate to sound all crusadery today, but as a life-long Nintendo - TopicsExpress

I hate to sound all crusadery today, but as a life-long Nintendo fan-boy Im having a rather tough weekend. I turned on my Wii-U yesterday and as presented with a We have a new EULA for you to agree to screen. Normally I wouldnt mind, but the problem is I cannot click anything but I AGREE. This means that I cannot play *any* of the games I own until I agree to it! In other words, they want me to retroactively agree to new terms and if I dont I cannot play several of the $60+ games Ive purchased! Were altering the deal, pray we do not alter it any further. As much of a Nintendo fanboy as I am I cannot accept having my system held hostage to basically agree that they have the right to modify my system without notifying me or even giving me a chance to decline. The time to discuss was was before I made the purchase, not after Ive already invested over $600 in it. Welp, the EFF has taken up the cause and hopefully they can kick Nintendo in the rump to do something about it. In the mean time, if any of you find this offensive and would like to know something they could do to fight back against this sort of behavior, I can suggest something that has worked in the past. Give Nintendo a 1-star review on Amazon. amazon/Nintendo-Wii-Console-Black-Deluxe-U/dp/B009AGXH64 This approach has worked before. When the game Spore was announced, it was also announced that youd only be permitted to install it 3 times. After that you had to call an 800 number and explain to somebody over the phone why you need another unlock. 1,500 people gave the game a 1-star review on Amazon and that was enough to get EA to relax their terms. That is the first time Ive seen so few people have such a big impact! Nintendo only has 600 reviews on this particular SKU, it wouldnt take many one-star reviews to drop their rating. Theres a good possibility that Nintendo would take notice. Would any of you be willing to take about five minutes to write a 1-star review explaining that you dont appreciate the sudden and un-declinable change in terms? I hate to ask of you all, but I loathe to think what Microsoft, Sony, Apple, Google, Samsung, or any of these other companies would do if Nintendo got away with this. Thanks for your time, B
