I have 3 new cookbooks on the drawing board for this year. Cooking (and cookbooks) is one of my most successful niches, although its a tough niche for many. Since Ive been in the niche since 1997, and wrote my first cookbook in 2000, I assume it will be a fairly easy undertaking. I want to do cookbooks for 1) Gluten-Free, 2) Diabetic and 3) Barbecue. I dont eat a gluten-free diet, but have friends who do. Im not diabetic although I have/had lots of diabetic relatives including my mom and grandmother. Ive always loved great BBQ & grew up on the Easter North Carolina (vinegar-based) pulled pork barbeque :-) I already have many of the recipes for all three cookbooks. I was reading a recent issue of Marlons Marketing Minute, and Marlon talked about creating digital assets that pay you for many years to come. My first cookbook has been selling steadily since 2000... so I got that. I was invited to speak at my first internet marketing seminar BECAUSE of my success with cookbooks, and the seminar host wanted a speaker who was successful selling something other than how to make money products. Thats what first branded me as an internet marketing expert! Now I just need to crank out more products! With cookbooks, most people seem to prefer physical, although I do sell a lot of ebook versions. So, Ill do both! If I push the fulfillment off on Amazon, or some other print-on-demand setup, I should be able to just do the work once, and collect on it for a long, long time. That Marlon is a pretty smart guy.
