I have a 4BR/2BA in Prospect Heights that I will be sharing with two other roommates starting Sept 1, and we are looking for a fourth person. Its close to the 2/3, the B/Q, and lots of bars, restaurants, etc., though its on a quiet block. Its a very good price for the area and its also one block from the main Brooklyn Public Library, two blocks from Prospect Park, and three from the Botanic Gardens and the Brooklyn Museum. Yoga studio, cafe, laundry on the block. All the BRs are real bedrooms, big enough for a full bed, desk, dresser, bookshelves, etc. We’re not looking for roommates of any particular gender; wherever you are on that spectrum is fine with us. Must be queer-friendly. A little about me and the other roommates: Im a filmmaker with a strong interest in social justice. I like to see movies at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria and to go the Grand Army Plaza farmers market on Saturdays when I get a chance. I read The Onion and Jacobin Magazine pretty compulsively. Ksenia is a Dutch grad student, going into her second year at The Institute of Fine Arts at NYU where shes studying art history (specializing in politically-engaged art and queer theory). She volunteers at Bluestockings, an activist bookstore/collective on the LES, and she very much wants to learn the ukulele. Laura is a Brazilian grad student who just moved to NYC to begin a masters program at Parsons in design. She studied architecture in college and worked at the Museum of Image and Sound in Sao Paulo. She likes David Bowie, the history of urban planning in Detroit, and critiques of gentrification. Please message me to talk more and tell a little bit about yourself! Sharing things like that will make it easier to see if we would be a good fit as roommates!
