I have a couple pictures up of my grandmother on my wall and people seem to think thats really odd. She passed away when I was 8. I look up at them every once and awhile and it makes me really sad, like really sad she cant see what Im doing today..what Ive done with my music. She cant see me on stage, she cant come to any of my birthday parties, I dont see her on Christmas, or thanksgiving, I cant get random calls from her, I cant randomly call her. I can only talk out loud and just hope shes listening.. My Nana wasnt the best person, she had problems Ill keep quite about. That ultimately lead to her death. But she was the best person to me.. I remember ever summer we would go spend a week or two down in ohio with her and my grandpa and my sisters were obviously pretty young, so when they would lay down for a nap, my nana and I would go pick fresh zucchini from her garden and make homemade zucchini bread. I intend to get a tattoo on my wrist of a loaf of zucchini with her birth year and passing year underneath it. I remember every night we stayed there...right before bed we had some kind of dessert and then wed talk and laugh before we brushed our teeth.. We used to color, and shed help me write songs, and she showed my songs to people even though I know they were terrible.. I miss her so much, I wish she could see me do what I love to do. We share a passion of music, and Im doing all of it for you. So next time you see those pictures on my wall you think of how much pain I have in my heart. Rest in Peace, Nana.
