I have a dream. So many Catholics are unaware of most of the means - TopicsExpress

I have a dream. So many Catholics are unaware of most of the means of support and resources available for women in all sorts of crisis pregnancies--not only for unwed mothers but also women carrying babies with a scary prenatal diagnosis. Most of us are not in the medical, legal or political professions and are not theologians. But in our various work situations, schools, parishes, neighborhoods, supermarkets, social organizations we may come into contact with a woman in some sort of crisis pregnancy or someone (family member of friend) close to her, and we need to be knowledgeable and EQUIPPED to explain the various organizations, resources, and support available and accessible within a reasonable distance from where the woman in a crisis pregnancy is and to give out names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, etc. So my dream is that in every region of every diocese there would be Pro-Life Ministry Fairs, held perhaps in the spring and in October (Respect Life Month) in reasonable weather, in indoor-outdoor facilities, where Catholic pro-life organizations, professionals, pregnancy resource/crisis pregnancy centers, etc. could have tables and distribute literature, pregnancy hotline numbers, etc. about what they do and what resources and means of support they offer. They could also have Power Point presentations and videos that would show the variety of crisis pregnancy hypothetical cases and walk through what is offered in each situation from intake during pregnancy, throughout the duration of the pregnancy, labor, delivery, and beyond. And there could be an area to keep younger children occupied with games and songs with an age appropriate life affirming focus.
