I have a feeling; with the recent economic catastrophe, government corruption, and literal importation of immigrant-refugees that this crisis will potentially reach a breaking point within the next year - we may not celebrate another Independence Day as a united nation of states. I could hardly focus on the celebrations the evening of the Fourth, as these thoughts were so paramount. I watch the Department of Homeland Security transport these refugees throughout the United States - with tax money the department shouldnt have. I watch our debt climb billions a day with no end in sight. I watch constitutional boundaries perpetually being trampled by policies that are intended to decrease personal freedom in exchange for security. This has to stop. This is absolutely unsustainable. This feels completely choreographed. Why would a seemingly rogue department begin such shenanigans at this time of year? After practically every American is informed of the IRS scandal? After the threat of economic collapse and government shutdown? Things like these make me wonder if I will even be free a year from now.
