I have a friend I have known for more than 50 years. In recent years we have discovered we are poles apart politically and it has caused both of us to back away from the friendship albeit keeping the roots of it intact. This is one time, however, that I cannot say I respect her opinion, because I do not. 50 years is a long time though, and although we could have servered the links entirely, we havent. I was on an Islamic Forum for a while in 2005 or 6, I dont remember, and the people I met had only one head, two hands, and were .... well, to put it in a quintessentially English way: Rather nice, actually. Just because the news media feeds us atrocities does not mean we have to spread that evil blanket to cover all others who profess that faith. Anyway, with the hot water situation as it is right now at TLFH I am considering hijab as an option! On many women it looks quite beautiful even if it is not required in the Koran (women are asked to dress modestly, nothing more.) My friend is on FB but I think she rarely visits. This time I hope she does. Thank you, Steve Ryman for sharing it.
