I have a friend who sings Gospel Music. [I hear all of you now saying Really? in unison. But I digress.] Anyway, he calls from time to time with some of THE BEST road stories ever. Today was no different. Before the story, he asked me a pointed question. How much do you love Jesus? Before I could answer, he explained that recently he was booked up North and the church placed him in a Mom & Pop motel. The girl was SO excited who checked him in. Weve never had a STAR stay here before! she said. He assured her that he wasnt a star, and explained that he was going to be singing at the local church. The next morning, he went to the desk to check out, and Habeeb was standing there with his turban and cheesy smile. He said, (with a stereotypical Middle Eastern accent) Good morning, Sir! I understand that you are a Gospel Singer. I think thats wonderful. My friend was a little taken aback. But, he questioned, So, uh, do you know Jesus? The attended replied, I sure do! My friend said, Now, Im talking about Jesus Christ. Not Allah. Habeeb exclaimed, Oh, Yes, Sir. I am a Christian. I believe in Jesus Christ. Hes the only one who ever died for me. You know, on the Cross! Praise The Lord! My friend then went on to say that he was thrilled that this guy was SO excited about Jesus, and wondered how many of the rest of us are as excited about Him as his new friend was that particular Sunday morning. My question to you today, is How much do you love Jesus? -- So, if anyone asked me today, my answer would be About as much as Habeeb does! -- And Id be telling the truth!!! WELL GLORY!!!!
