I have a heavy heart today and the world is a little less bright. Barbara Kay passed away yesterday. I met Barb many moons ago and we became instant family. She would always greet you with a smile, a kind word, and a hug. She was a bright, loving, caring, beautiful soul who will be missed everyday. You were only a stranger once to Barb and then you were a friend or if you were lucky enough you became family. She was known in Brevard county and throughout for her work with animals and especially birds. I would call her sometimes at home in a panic over my animals or birds and she would offer her gentle words which always made me feel better. Love, light, prayers, and thoughts go to her husband of 56 years, Gerald Kay and her family Dona Kay Austin, Mark Austin, and Kody Kay.
