I have a lot of contempt for Tambuwal, the speaker of the House of Representatives. For the past 3 plus years he has been a member one party but operating in another party. Parties win election to implement development programs for their voters. To do this , they use their leadership of presidency and the Congress to pursue programs and legislation to benefit the country. When you are the head of a house of the party in power therefore, your mandate is to use that position to pursue your party program. In the past 3 years, Tambuwal has pursued the program of the opposition, frustrating his party programs and acting as official opposition.Those who hail him as a rising politician may miss this. His new party may celebrate him. But in not focusing on critical legislation that are sorely needed to develop the country, but instead frustrating them for the benefit of the opposition, he has caused more harm to democracy than his brain can comprehend. I do not wish him luck in his new venture. He does not deserve it.
