I have a lot to be grateful for this morning. Many of these thanks I will give in person, but I need to do this in a public forum because these folks deserve recognition. Last night at about 8:30, my house caught fire. Thanks to smoke detectors and my amazing son and husband, my sleeping daughter and I are here. Thanks to the firefighters of the CROWLEY FIRE DEPARTMENT, the fire was contained to a small area. The smoke damage is significant, but that cant be helped. (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check your smoke detectors and get them throughout your home if you dont have them.) Special thanks to Firefighter Burke ( Rachel Burke, please let him know!) who did SUCH a wonderful job (I yelled at him like a crazed lunatic when they got there... I was frantic and am now embarrassed). He led a fantastic team who put out the fire quickly, cleared as much of the smoke as possible, cleaned up as much as they could, were efficient and effective... I cant say enough good about these gentlemen. Thanks to Chad Monceaux, for coming by. I dont think he was even on duty! Thanks to Jamie Bergeron who came as a paramedic to check on us and just offered words of comfort. Those firefighters are AMAZING! Please tag one or show them this message. They deserve much more than they earn. They have certainly earned my eternal respect.
