I have a lot to be thankful for this morning. Just spoke to my son and could hardly believe that his physical therapy guru has had him taking his arm out of the sling about three times each day and moving it about and HOPEFULLY, he will be released sometime today IF his culture shows no bacterial infection around the bone. High on the list, however, VERY HIGH on MY list of things for which to be thankful, is something a lot more daily which we are not normally so thankful about. It is truly a blessing to be able, this morning, to pass gas fearlessly. Anyone who has been required to perform that function CAREFULLY knows very well how very liberating it is to give no thought to that particularly mundane and sometimes embarrassing activity. We sing a song, In Everything Give Thanks ... 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Also we are admonished to fear not 365 times in the Bible. One fear not for every day of our year. God made our bodies and those various organs function in harmony. When one of them goes flat ... or sharp ... many times it causes everything to get out of synchronized harmonious operation. As I sit here and write this morning, tongue in cheek, about a particular aspect of life, as we know it, countless lives are being snuffed out across America today. That beautiful harmonious tune which is steadily beating, in the breast of an infant, within the sanctity of mothers womb is going to be silenced forever. That murderous act is going to take place around 3700 times today ... and again tomorrow ... and again and again and again each and every day which rolls by. There are, however, folks who are trying to help moms and dads make a better choice ... the right choice. As of this morning, going into day #6 of 40 Days For Life, 44 lives (that we know of) have been spared due to the efforts of volunteers who are trying to raise awareness of the enormity of the deed which is being done and the consequences.
