I have a question about the concept of time in Islam that i want - TopicsExpress

I have a question about the concept of time in Islam that i want to ask, but before i do, i just want to say something, a disclaimer of sorts: We Muslims in the west are increasingly becoming conscious of our faith as a result of growing hostility by media, emergence of right wing parties across the western world AND distortions by people who claim to speak for us (Muslims and non Muslims alike). We are having to re-asses the beliefs we took for granted in our home countries as they are subjected to an ever more rigorous scrutiny in public discourses by groups invested to portray Islam as inherently evil and violent. We are having to reconsider our purpose and what it means to live in these times of Fitnah and examine our priorities more closely. Questions on Islam that I and many others ask on this forum have been increasingly getting hijacked by some people under various pretexts. Aqeedah blah blah. To those guys, and you know yourselves, please, enlighten me if you can, otherwise, respect my right to inquiry from other students of knowledge. Now, my QUESTION The concept of TIME and CREATION in Islam: There are various Hadiths foretelling stories of Judgement, people already in Hell, some seen by prophet SAW in his journey to the heavens (if am not mistaken). Those people, i believe lived a time different from ours as the sequence of events in the Quran is: You are created---> You live---> You die---> Judgement in Grave and Decisions-->Day of Resurrection and Judgement by Allah SW--->Hell or Heaven. Question: The time that we live in, is it specific to just us, the humankind on earth or did Allah create others beside JInn and Ins and of course the angels? I ask that because the sequence of events as we were taught seems to not gel with these Hadiths. i thought people had to endure the punishment/reward of the grave, be resurrected and judged and then departed to either hell or heaven, if there are people who are already in hell/heaven, surely thats to mean judgement has already been passed for them. Are these stories in the Quran or are they Hadith? And if Hadith, are they Sahih or one of the weak ones? Or... Is it one of those special privileges accorded to the Prophet SAW, a glimpse of the future given to him by almighty?
