I have a spiritual brother who has problems with his thyroid. We have been friends for almost twenty years. I have another spiritual brother who almost died in a car crash a few years ago. I truly love these brothers. I love them so much that I would not only die for them-I live for them. There are times Im overwhelmed with emotion for these brothers and other black and brown men in my life. One of those times occurred the other day. Out of blue I thought of my brother with the thyroid problem. He likes to smoke cigarettes. Thyroid problems and cigarettes are not a good combination. His health will be greatly compromised from smoking cigarettes. So overcome with the thought of losing him I texted him: Brother, too many people love you. We would be saddened if anything happened to you. Please stop smoking. We love you. I love you. To some this may seem corny. To others it may sound over dramatic. Some wouldnt do it because we as black And brown men arent conditioned to show love towards each other because its seen as soft, gay, and weak. My brothers, lose the mask. If you love me-tell me. Im not looking for attention. Im looking for a revolution. I see plenty of women who support my posts, however I know brothers support me too in silence. I love you brothers. Your support is welcomed and appreciated. If you love your brother...tell him, make it a pattern. Tell your brother you love him this weekend. To truly understand love we must practice it. Im tagging these brothers because I love them and see them as family. The revolution starts with loving self and others you see as a reflection of yourself.
