I have always had this love hate relationship with technology .i hate it when it gets too intrusive and when just about anyone thinks its her/his birthright to call u up wheter u r in the bathroom ,or in a board room .I hate it when people call me up at hours asking whether i have finished the work that was set up to do .I yearn for the eighties and nineties when you closed shop once you were out of your workplace .!But i love technology at other levels .I was able to track the United Airline flight that was carrying my wife and son to the US and Canada live .I watched the plane as it flew over Pakistan ,Russia ,over Finland ,Sweeden ,Norway ,the Norwegian Sea ,north of Iceland and then over Greenland before it landed in Newark .And then i tracked it again as they changed flights to go to Halifax .The beauty of the live tracker is that it keeps on showing how many miles are covered ,how many miles are left and how much of time is left to reach the destination !All this on Flightaware Live Tracker .The moment they landed ,i rang up from my cell ."We are taxying " Sangeeta said "We have just landed ".And while they waited at the Airport ,my son was on Skype talking to me .Wow -so clear and so near !! While it’s great that society has become so mobile and dynamic, a world in which everyone is constantly on the go can also be alienating and lonely. If you’re looking to reconnect with old friends or simply to stay in touch with family members while you or they are on the move, then technology is a life and game changer .Not to talk of the added advantage of using it for getting admissions and paying your bills within minutes by just clicking the right button .All said and done -it is something i love and swear by .!!
