I have an idea for an ongoing discussion on this page. I invite each of you to chime in on meaningful lyrics in songs, and why these lyrics resonate with you. Anyone can add their comments and lyrics of their own. Ill start with a lyric that has shaped many listeners thoughts and views.In 1975, Pink Floyd released a brilliant album, Wish You Were Here. The title track, the fourth track on the album, featured the following lines: Were just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here. This song, to me, represents life. The existential and ongoing search for love and companionship. The ceaseless whirlwind of life as we make our ways through our own fishbowls. Longing for past love.
