I have been a lazy eater. Ive had good intentions, made many - TopicsExpress

I have been a lazy eater. Ive had good intentions, made many assumptions, and justified my lazy eating with the fact that I workout everyday. The Sunday before last, I created an account on LoseIt and downloaded its app on my phone. Since then I have very intentional about tracking my food, even when I ate out and the entire time I traveled for work. I would consider myself pretty aware and educated in this stuff, but its amazing what you learn when are paying closer attention. My biggest is aha is lunch. Since I started tracking my food my average calorie intake over lunch is 470 calories per lunch. Most days I cook my own food, but that also includes having to grab stuff on the fly and eating out three of the days. With this Im not eating less food so I feel hungry, Im just eating better foods and my proteins, carbs, and fats are at a healthier ratio. Before doing this I bet with my previous lunch habits of blindly eating out, calling Jimmy Johns, or running to the store averaged me closer 750-1000 calories per lunch and my carbs were through the roof. I had a manager that use to tell me you cant manage what you cant measure. Because I am measuring and managing my breakfast, lunch, and snacks, by the time I get to dinner, I can darn near eat whatever I want and still meet my eating goals. Who else uses apps like LoseIt? Or what other tricks have you come up with to keep yourself on track? Food for thought . . . (literally)
