I have been asked by quite a few people lately as to how I go about finding venues to sell my wares at. So here is my basic run down. A. Most shows I attend are more than 100 miles away from my home. Why? The area I live in does not have a demographic of patrons who are interested in paying for custom made items at a rate that supports my craft.I am not talking arm and leg just fair wage and cost of business. B. Starting with my calender I find dates I can travel. Then I Google craft shows by state. Then the weeding begins. I will even contact other vendors from the last show to get their take on the experience. Then I start applying. C. At many of the shows I attend I receive invitations to other shows in the area by show scouts. I make a rule to ALWAYS attend shows that I receive such invitations as they will not always ask again if I do not go. Have fun!
