I have been asked to post this over here for others who have not had a chance to view in regards to the recent announcement of raises and early profit sharing. 3% for those under 12 years employment (over 5,000 f/as ) and 4% for the rest (over 16,000 f/as) . Personally I would not have unveiled this increase as it is an insult. Putting the early profit sharing figure in of 5 % makes it seem larger. It is NOT. I will accept it gratefully and spend it but... Let’s review the FACTS. *The last IBT contract had a Lowest (1st year flight attendant) Pay Rate of $21.77 in 2004. *The last IBT contract had the Highest (15 year flight attendant)Pay rate of $49.10 in 2004. *The last IBT contract had a Lowest pay Base Pay(1st year flight attendant) of $1,415.07 in 2004 *The last IBT contract had a Highest pay Base Pay(15 year flight attendant) of $3,191.78 in 2004. *”Base Pay” was defined as for 65 Hours. *Reserves were guaranteed 75 Hours. *In addition to Base Pay a Flight Attendant received incentive pay for each hour in excess of SIXTY-FIVE credited hours (65:00) per month. *The last IBT contract had Purser Pay of $7.25 in 2004. *The last IBT contract as of June 1, 2000 had Retirees able to continue medical and dental provided they pay their one half of the premiums. This was NEGOTIATED starting in 1998 and Implemented in 2000. NOW -TODAY in 2014 at DL. *The lowest paid flight attendant gets $22.60 *The highest paid flight attendant gets $51.46 *There is NO BASE PAY *There is NO pay guarantee for the junior flight attendants. *There is No pay guarantee for the senior flight attendants. *Purser Pay is $5.40 *There is no Retiree Medical. *Since this 2000 contract junior flight attendants make $.83 cents per hour more than 10 years ago. *Since this 2000 contract senior flight attendants make $2.36 per hour more than 10 years ago. *Today’s announcement of giving a 3% to junior flight attendants (1-12 years)and 4% to the most senior amounts to respectively : * .03 x $22.60 = .67 (SIXTY SEVEN) cents raise *.04 x $51.46 = $2.05 (TWO DOLLARS AND FIVE CENTS) raise ***It is not rocket science to realize that after 10 years the junior flight attendants will get $1.50 more per hour than in 2004 with no guarantee. ***It is not rocket science to realize the most senior and yes the most senior flight attendants will get $4.41 more per hour than In 2004 with no guarantee. There is no spin on this, no rumor, JUST FACTS as published! It is time to Negotiate a Livable wage and a decent Retirement benefit. Once again this was all negotiated starting in 1998 (16 years ago) and implemented in 2000 (14 years ago). Fuel prices were $1.06 in 1998. Are you worth more in 2014? Do you deserve wages and benefits to live in this century’s cost of living? I know IAM. Those who spin it will say the IAM brought down TWA. (I read this on the Kool-Aid page) *Just check the facts and remember who did as in - Carl Icahn Icahn developed a reputation as a ruthless corporate raider after his hostile takeover of TWA in 1985. The result of that takeover was Icahn systematically selling TWAs assets to repay the debt he used to purchase the company, which was described as asset stripping. In 1988, Icahn took TWA private, gaining a personal profit of $469 million, and leaving TWA with a debt of $540 million. In 1991, Icahn sold TWAs prized London routes to American Airlines for $445 million. Just the facts in the no spin zone. Negotiate today and live longer. Fly 200 hours a month and have no life but die sooner. Negotiate for Livable wages and Livable working conditions. We deserve it.
